This past weekend Abbotsford Female U11 Hockey team Headed to their first tournament in 2 years and they did not disappoint bringing home the gold medal.

The girls took a loss in their tournament opener with a 4-2 loss to a really good Kelowna team.

On Saturday, the girls brushed off the nerves and got to work beating host Salmon Arm 2-1 and then beating Kamloops 3-1, giving them a 2-1 record and a spot in Sundays final.

On Sunday, the girls really came together and worked as a team to defeat the top team out of round robin beating Kelowna 2-1 giving the girls there first tournament win.

The girls played hard all weekend and had a lot of fun.
